How paintings happen is sometimes not what you would expect. In this case I had been sitting on several canvases that were willed to me after the death of my friend Mac, a fellow artist. It was wide and skinny, what the hell could I ever put on this thing. Light bulb goes off! The drawing of the stingray was perfect for that canvas.
