“Tarpon at the Boat”, is a powerful oil painting speaking to the forces of nature and tarpon fishing. This is the guides view of the final moments in the battle to land one of these monsters, lying on your stomach on the bow of your skiff, griping the 40 pound leader in hopes of subduing the hard fought prize for your client. You might as well take your sunglasses off since they will be coated with saltwater or end up in the drink. Either one, is not good. This painting has come back on the market as it’s former owner, an avid tarpon fisherman, has recently passed away. His estate has requested that the painting be resold to someone who appreciated the angling event as much as he did. It’s a rather large painting (38″X42″) so as to command the viewers attention whether viewed up close as a guide would see it or from across the room. You can find the details about this painting on the Vaughn Cochran Originals Page on this website.
